About
Fusion in the Golden State
California is home to the largest fusion ecosystem in the United States — the nation’s biggest fusion laboratories, more than a quarter of all U.S. fusion startups, a fast-growing supply chain, and globally recognized academic programs feeding an unmatched talent pipeline.
Recognizing fusion’s potential to transform the energy sector, California’s state government has put significant incentives behind the community — attracting investment, supporting job growth, and expanding the state’s fusion energy economy.
The Convening
First Statewide Convening on Fusion Energy
General Atomics, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and UC San Diego invite you to the first statewide convening of California’s fusion energy ecosystem.
Produced in collaboration with the University of California Office of the President, the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), and the California Energy Commission, the 2025 convening showcases everything California has to offer — an in-depth look at the state’s fusion landscape, recent legislation supporting the industry, programs and resources from state agencies, and spotlights on emerging regional hubs for fusion innovation.
